Problems cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is based on the recognition that people will experience events both external (such as giving a presentation, engaging in an argument or driving over a bridge) and internal (such as a racing heart, unexplained aches and pains or disturbing thoughts and images). When the experience is registered, the mind attaches a meaning to the experience. The meaning attached to experience will correspond with a feeling and there will be a behavioral response. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy teaches people how to recognize and change patterns of mis-reading information and change patterns of behavior that are keeping them stuck.

Cognitive Therapy Solutions will commonly use additional forms of cognitive and behavioral therapy to enhance treatment outcomes.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Mindfulness practices incorporate the use of meditation to enhance an individual's recognition of the nature of their mind, including the thoughts, images and feeling states that influence their behavior and effect their sense of overall well-being. MBCT has been shown to be especially effective in reducing the incidences of depression relapse.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is a type of behavioral technique used to help in the treatment of anxiety. With most anxieties, the assessment of the potential threat is overestimated. ERP helps the anxious client to face feared situations and make appropriate adjustments to  their assessments of threat, which in turn helps them to feel more confident relaxed and in control in situations that used to cause them severe anxiety.
